Delete Your Account

This page explains how to permanently delete your account and the data associated with it for the Kayro Cloud and Kayro Mobile mobile applications. Choose the section that matches the app you use.

Kayro Cloud

Kayro Cloud is a Nextcloud client. Deleting your account permanently removes your user, files, calendar entries, contact entries, and shares from the Nextcloud server you connected to, and wipes locally cached content from your device.

Option A — Delete from inside the app (recommended)

1. Open Kayro Cloud on your iOS or Android device.
2. Tap Settings (the gear icon).
3. Tap Account → Delete Account.
4. Read the confirmation screen, type your username to confirm, and tap Permanently Delete.
5. The app sends a deletion request to your Nextcloud server. Once the server confirms, your account and content are removed and you are signed out.

Option B — Delete from the web

1. Open a browser and sign in to your Nextcloud server (for example cloud.capula.co).
2. Click your avatar (top right) → Settings.
3. Find Delete account in the personal information section.
4. Confirm the deletion. Your account and all server-side content are permanently removed.

Option C — Request via support

If neither option works, please contact us with the subject line "Kayro Cloud — Delete Account" and include the username and Nextcloud server URL associated with your account. We will coordinate deletion with the server operator and confirm completion by email within 30 days.

What gets deleted

• Your Nextcloud user account on the connected server.
• All files, photos, and videos stored under your account.
• Calendar entries, contact entries, and shares created by you.
• App passwords and OAuth tokens associated with your account.
• Locally cached files, thumbnails, and authentication tokens on your device.

What is retained (and why)

• Files shared with you remain in their original owner's account; only your access is removed.
• Server logs may retain anonymized request records for a limited period for security and abuse prevention.
• Backups taken by the server operator before deletion may be retained for the operator's standard retention window, then permanently destroyed.

Kayro Mobile

Kayro Mobile is a Matrix messaging client. Deleting your account deactivates your Matrix user on your homeserver and wipes locally cached content and encryption keys from your device.

Option A — Delete from inside the app (recommended)

1. Open Kayro Mobile on your iOS or Android device.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Tap Account → Delete Account.
4. Read the confirmation screen, enter your password to confirm, and tap Permanently Delete.
5. The app sends a deactivation request to your Matrix homeserver. Once confirmed, your account is deactivated, your username is released according to your homeserver's policy, and you are signed out.

Option B — Request via support

If you cannot delete from inside the app, please contact us with the subject line "Kayro Mobile — Delete Account" and include the Matrix user ID and homeserver associated with your account. We will coordinate deactivation with the homeserver operator and confirm completion by email within 30 days.

What gets deleted

• Your Matrix user account on the connected homeserver.
• Your end-to-end-encryption keys held on the device.
• Locally cached messages, media, and authentication tokens.
• Push notification tokens registered with the homeserver.

What is retained (and why)

• Messages sent to other people's rooms remain in those rooms because the messages were delivered to other participants' devices and homeservers; depending on your homeserver's policy, your messages may be erased, anonymized, or marked as authored by a deactivated user.
• Server logs may retain anonymized request records for a limited period for security and abuse prevention.
• Backups taken by the homeserver operator before deactivation may be retained for the operator's standard retention window.
