1. About the Blog

The blog at lucabytheway.com is a publishing platform powered by the Ghost CMS and an ActivityPub bridge. It hosts written posts, optional newsletter subscriptions, and federated content delivery to compatible Fediverse servers. Some posts may be authored or partially generated through the Kayro Cloud AI assistant via the Ghost Admin API.

2. Information Collected

2.1 Visitors

• Server logs: the web server records the IP address, requested URL, user-agent, and timestamp of each request. Logs are used for security and abuse prevention and are rotated regularly.
• Cookies: Ghost may set a session cookie when you sign in or subscribe. The site does not embed advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
• Analytics: aggregated, privacy-respecting analytics (no per-visitor profiling).

2.2 Newsletter Subscribers

• Email address provided by you when subscribing.
• Optional first name or display name.
• Subscription preferences and email open/click events (where applicable).
• You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any newsletter email.

2.3 Comments / Replies

If commenting is enabled on a post, the email address and display name you provide are stored with your comment. Comments may be visible publicly. ActivityPub-federated replies received from Fediverse servers are stored and displayed as part of the post.

3. ActivityPub / Fediverse

When you follow the blog from a Fediverse server (Mastodon, etc.), your follower handle and the public information your server chooses to broadcast are received and stored to enable delivery of new posts. Your interactions (likes, boosts, replies) are visible according to your home server's settings.

4. AI-Assisted Posts

Some posts may be created or edited with assistance from the AI tooling integrated into Kayro Cloud. AI-generated drafts are reviewed before publication. When a post is published via the AI assistant, the post content is sent to the blog's Ghost Admin API along with metadata such as title, tags, and feature image. No reader data is sent to AI services as a result of normal browsing.

5. How the Information Is Used

• Deliver requested pages, posts, and newsletters.
• Detect and prevent abuse (e.g., scraping, brute-force attempts).
• Operate optional commenting and Fediverse follow features.
• Measure aggregate readership and topic interest.

We do not sell newsletter subscriber data and do not share it with advertisers.

6. Sub-Processors

• Email delivery (transactional & newsletter): the configured SMTP/email service provider. Subscriber email addresses and message contents are processed by that provider only to deliver the email.
• Hosting: the blog is self-hosted on infrastructure operated by Fizzify Inc.
• CDN (if enabled): may cache static images and assets at the edge for performance.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information held about you in connection with the blog. To unsubscribe from the newsletter, use the link in any newsletter email. To delete a comment or your subscriber record, please contact us. The CCPA, CPRA, GDPR, and UK GDPR sections in the Fizzify Inc. Privacy Policy apply.

8. Children's Privacy

The blog is not directed to children under 13 (16 in the EEA).

9. Changes

Material changes to this notice will be reflected on this page along with an updated "Last Updated" date.
